Your wedding concludes, and here comes the honeymoon. Flying off to a far flung destination comes with its fair share of thrills and expectations, but local destinations such as Masai Mara also pack in lots of excitement and surprises.
One way of getting the most out of a trip to Masai Mara trip is by getting a bird’s eye view of the famous conservancy in a hot air balloon. Moran Pride Ltd has been getting its guests floating over Masai Mara for a while now, helping them stock memories that last a lifetime; here is the low down:
The Take off…
You get to take off in the wee hours of the morning, you will need to brace yourself for an extraordinary day. An hour or so of pure bliss, as you silently glide over the scenically rich savannah vegetation teaming with wildlife. Get to drift with the wind, catch the breathtaking sunrise, revel in the beauty of the reserve.
As the balloon begins its aerial ascent, picturesque sceneries begin to unfold before your eyes as the ground slowly slips away. Lush grasslands, gentle rolling hills and meandering rivers garnish your view. Wildlife are easy to spot; gazelles, hippos, elephants and other foragers are particularly easy to pick out.
If you are lucky enough, you will also get a chance to locate lordly hunters such as cheaters, lions and hyenas. Your appreciation of the Masai Mara ecosystem will grow by the minute, and floating above it all makes it much more glamorous. Your descent will culminate in a bush breakfast specifically prepared to help you transist back to earth.
All systems in place…
A standard hot air balloon comfortably accommodates 16 individuals but within some company limitations. This might not be an ideal situation for you as a couple but the experience will be worth every penny you put into it. Hot air balloon flights need to be pre-arranged, it is therefore necessary that you make your reservation requests early enough.
If its your first time on the balloon, the company will take you through all the necessary information about the flight prior to the take off. You will be schooled on what to expect, how it works and general safety information.
