They say he who finds a wife finds what is good and obtains favour from God. However, if the number of Kenyan male celebrities who are still single at 40 is anything to go by, it’s obvious that these stars dread the whole idea of matrimony.
But for those who found the courage to take the bold step, it was a once in a lifetime experience and we certainly enjoyed every bit of their weddings. We reminisce on some of these moments.
Abbas Kubaff (Musician)
We will never forget this top secret event that saw this hip-hop legend dedicate his life to his beautiful fiancée, Anna English, who was pregnant at the time of the wedding. The invite-only wedding went down at Diani Beach Resort in Mombasa. Considering that we are used to seeing him in baggy jeans and oversize T-shirts; it was a big surprise to see the hip hop star in a formal outfit with an amazing navy-blue slim fit tuxedo, a black bowtie and a purple shirt.
DNG (Radio Presenter/Emcee/Hype man)
This vocal radio king decided to tie the knot with his gorgeous queen, Yvette Nungari, back in March 2015 at an event that was studded with top celebrities. The purple-themed wedding was held at Fairmont Kenya, Safari Park on Saturday 7th March, 2015. The groom looked sharp in his pure white suit and a black bowtie- a style that perfectly complemented the bride’s wedding dress.
The popular gospel artist decided to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend Susan Njoki back in 2014 in a colorful event that took place at Boma Hotel in South C. Mr. ‘Iggy Iggy’ decided to rock a stunning pure white tuxedo with a black bowtie and a white shirt. It was a wonderful spectacle as the couple walked down the aisle.
Tim Njiru (TV Personality)
The celebrated TV presenter exchanged vows with his beautiful fiancée, Pamela Gatwiri, in the year 2013 in a blissful wedding event that took place at Oak Palace Hotel. He chose to complement his bride’s white wedding dress with a white suit, white shirt, blue tie and a blue pocket square. It was a drop-dead classical style that left tongues wagging and jaws falling.
Denis Okari (Journalist)
After many years of dating his media personality and fiancée, Betty Kyalo, Denis Okari decided to get hitched in a colorful event which was attended by media bigwigs, politicians and renowned corporate personalities. This invite-only event took place at Marula Manor in Karen. Although the groom opted for a classical style with a slim fit, mix and match outfit, we all agree that this was one of the most exceptional weddings to ever happen in Kenya.
