Theme of the wedding

Take an African-themed wedding for example. Guests would expect that the cakes would be an extension of the theme. Cakes in the form of traditional pots or huts would do the trick.
Wedding Color Scheme
Most people love to coordinate colors throughout their events. While the basic wedding cake is white, adding another colour is a much needed break. However, it would make more sense to match this colour to the general hue. Choose colors that blend well together. A green cake for a hot pink wedding would be a bit distracting.
Number of guests
It’s much easier to go wild with cake designs with a smaller group of people. It may be a good idea to have separated cakes for a larger crowd as compared to tiers. Cupcakes, which are quickly becoming a wedding favorite may not favor such a humongous group. Talk to your baker though. A skilled one would be able to work around this and deliver a client’s preferred concept.
Location of the wedding
We all want to bite into a fresh morsel of cake. This may not be a reality, especially for a couple that is tying the knot far from the bakery. Some flavors may not be able to work well for long distance travel and prolonged storage. Thankfully, the pastry chef will be able to advise on the way forward.
