As the maid of honor, one of the treat you can give the soon to be bride is a hen party. It is the last party she will go as a single woman so you have to make it memorable. While the guys go riot at the bachelor party, most times the ladies stay in and worry about the day after. No need to worry especially if the bride-to-be had hired a wedding planner to do the worrying for her.
Among taking care of the wedding details, plan a hen’s party for the bride and a few girls. First, you should know the bride-to-be quite well to know what kind of party they would like. Brides are different; there are those who would want to go party all night, while others will opt to stay in.
For a quiet night in, here are some ideas;
Share some experiences with the girls and have a good laugh. Talk about your teenage crushes, relationships gone wrong and some other experiences that can now be laughed about. One of your girls is in a marriage that you admire, ask her to come and pass some tips. Yes, some of these tips will come in handy, like you will not always have the honeymoon lovey-dovey you are at right now and that you don’t have to be right at all times. The best advice you can get is from someone who has seen it all.
Make Up and Pajama
Have a mini pajama party gossiping and making you up. Share some make home remedies of facial masks and try them on. Don’t let the bride get too experimental with the makeup; you don’t want some reacting face on the eve of her D day. Well, you do the above in the assumption that she got professional mani-pedi.
Watch 27 Dresses
Catch a chick flick movie with the girl, laughing and crying as it goes on. I would watch 27 dresses where Katherine Heigl is great at attending other people’s weddings except hers. It may depress the single girls in the party but will make the bride appreciate her soon to be wedding, the wedding is all about her, right? Oh another chick flick for weddings besides JLo’s Wedding Planner is I do but I don’t.
Whatever you do on the hen party, make sure you do not have too much wine. We don’t want a bride and bridal party nursing a hangover, do we?
