It’s every girl’s dream to pull off the princess-look on her wedding day. Unfortunately, many have made terrible choices on what they wear walking down the aisle. Whether you are a soon to be bride, it’s your best friend’s wedding, or anyone close to you is about to walk down the aisle, make sure they are not making any one of these mistakes.
Showing too much cleavage
You must know the right neckline for your body type so that you don’t reveal too much and feel uncomfortable throughout the ceremony. Seeing a bride pulling up her gown all the time is annoying. You don’t want guests (especially your old parents and relatives) to feel awkward watching you walking down the aisle.
The wrong length
Your wedding gown should never appear too short or too long. If you want a long gown then make sure it properly covers your shoes but in a way that you can still manage to walk down the aisle without tripping. Be extra careful when choosing a short wedding dress and make sure it’s not revealing. As a rule of thumb, short dresses should be spared for the evening party and honeymoon.
Poorly done seams
Who said cheap wedding dresses have to look ‘cheap’? Never select a wedding dress that is not properly done because, everyone will know. Don’t assume that majority of the guests are not detail oriented. The finishing has to be done right.
A voluminous gown
Your wedding dress should flaunt your beautiful figure. Princess dresses can be big on the lower side but they don’t have to appear too bulky. Look for just the right size so that you don’t end up being swallowed inside your wedding gown.
Too much bling (beading and embroidery)
We all agree that it’s your time to shine. However, too much of something is distasteful, figuratively speaking. It’s ok to have beads and embroidery on your gown but don’t overdo it because they will end up stealing the shine from you.
The stationary bride
Lastly, avoid those wedding gowns that turn you into an immobile bride. You want to feel free and comfortable on your wedding day so a gown that is too tight or too heavy will certainly not work out. Know your body type so that you can find the right gown for it. See different body types for different gowns here.
